এক মূঢ়তার পথে

আমি আঁখি খুলে রেখে দেখিনু আজিকে
সারি সারি পাখি পঞ্চম গায়।
রয়ছে সাজানো খাবার দোকানে
কিনবে মানুষ, উঠবে থালায়।
দোকানগুলি ব্যবসা চালায়
এক মূঢ়তার পথে।

আমি দিব্য চক্ষে দেখিনু আজিকে
মজুত গম কীট কেটে যায়।
দোকান গুলিতে কিছু নাই আর
লোকে কী খাবে ভবে নাহি পায়
শূন্য দোকান কোথায় দাঁড়িয়ে রয়েছে
এক মূঢ়তার পথে!

For people to eat,
Sold in the shops of
Stupidity Street.

I saw in vision
The worm in the wheat,
And in the shops nothing
For people to eat;
Nothing for sale in
Stupidity Street.
